Przed Sylwestrem można zobaczyć noworoczne ozdoby i iluminacje w wielu miejscach na wyspie (np. na ulicach, rondach, w hotelach, sklepach, firmach, etc.). Na północnej stronie wyspy choinkę ubiera się m.in. na przywitanie Nowego Roku.
Przed Sylwestrem w sklepach można spotkać tłumy ludzi robiących zakupy w celu świętowania Nowego Roku.
Cypryjczycy świętują w domach, na publicznych imprezach/koncertach organizowanych przez lokalne władze, popularne są także sylwestrowe kolacje organizowane w hotelach. Około północny można podziwiać w wielu miejscach pokazy sztucznych ogni. 1 stycznia jest dniem wolnym od pracy na południowej i północnej stronie wyspy.
New Year's Eve in Cyprus is widely celebrated.
Before New Year's Eve you can see the New Year's decorations and illuminations in many places on the island (eg. in the streets, roundabouts, hotels, stores, companies, etc.). On the north side of the island Christmas trees are dressed, among others to welcome the New Year. Before New Year's Eve in stores you can find crowds of shoppers to celebrate the New Year.
Cypriots celebrate in their homes, at public events/concerts organized by the local authorities, are also popular New Year's Eve dinner organized in hotels. About north you can see in many places fireworks. January 1st is a day off from work on the southern and northern side of the island.
