Internet, połączenia telefoniczne podczas wakacji na Północnym Cyprze/Internet, phone calls while on holiday in Northern Cyprus

Decydując się na spędzenie wakacji na Północnym Cyprze możemy potrzebować dostępu do internetu. Możemy także potrzebować telefonować, wysyłać sms za granicę. Co zrobić, żeby nie narazić się na wysokie koszty za usługi internetowe i telefoniczne?

Wiele restauracji, hoteli, etc. udostępnia internet swoim gościom za darmo.

Dostęp do sieci komórkowej jest niemalże na całym terytorium Cypru Północnego.

I tak np. największy operator komórkowy oferuje pakiet turystyczny, który kosztuje 39 lir, tj. 12 euro. Pakiet obejmuje 2 GB internetu, 50 minut rozmów międzynarodowych i 500 sms międzynarodowych. Pakiet jest ważny miesiąc i można go kupić w każdym sklepie.

For example: the largest mobile operator offers a tourist package, which costs 39 lira, ie. 12 euros. The package includes 2 GB of internet, 50 minutes of talk time and 500 international sms international. The package is valid for one month and can be purchased at any store.

Dostaję sporo ciekawych e-maili z prośbą o przekazanie informacji dotyczących m.in.:
- przekraczania granicy pomiędzy obiema częściami wyspy,
- o wizy w związku z przekraczaniem granicy pomiędzy obiema częściami wyspy,
- o ograniczenia czasowe związane z pobytem na drugiej części wyspy, po przekroczeniu granicy,
- o bezpieczeństwo na północnej stronie wyspy,
- o transport pomiędzy obiema częściami wyspy, etc.

I get a lot of interesting e-mails asking for information concerning:

Jak wygląda sytuacja dotycząca przekraczania granicy lądowej pomiędzy południową a północną częścią wyspy (podróżujemy np. z Larnaki do Kyrenii)?
Obywatele Unii Europejskiej:
- mogą przekraczać granicę na podstawie dowodu osobistego lub paszportu (cała wyspa znajduje się w Unii Europejskiej),
- nie ma obowiązku wizowego,
- limitu czasu pobytu - max. 3 miesiące od momentu przekroczenia granicy.
Obywatele innych państw - w zależności od tego, z jakiego państwa podróżujemy  wiza może być wymagana.

What is the situation regarding land crossing between the southern and northern part of the island (traveling eg. from Larnaca to Kyrenia)?
Citizens of the European Union:
- they can cross the border on the basis of an identity card or passport (the whole island is located in the European Union),
- there is no visa requirement,
- the time limit of stay - max. 3 months from the moment of crossing the border.

Citizens of other countries - depending from which country we travel visa may be required.

Czy więc możemy przylecieć na lotnisko (np. tradycyjnym przewoźnikiem, tanimi liniami lub czarterem) w Larnace lub w Paphos, na południowej stronie wyspy,  przekroczyć granicę i spędzić wakacje na północnej stronie wyspy? Oczywiście, nie ma problemu. Możliwy jest także przylot na lotnisko Ercan (na północnej stronie wyspy), przekroczenie granicy i spędzenie wakacji na południowej stronie wyspy.

Whether we can arrive at the airport (eg. the traditional carrier, budget airlines or charter) to Larnaca or Paphos, on the south side of the island, cross the border and spend your vacation on the north side of the island? Jak dostać się z lotniska w Larnace lub w Paphos (na południowej stronie wyspy) na północną stronę wyspy, skoro nie ma połączeń autobusowych, kolejowych i lotniczych pomiędzy obiema częściami wyspy?
Możemy skorzystać z kilku rozwiązań:
- wynająć taxi, które ma możliwość przekroczenia granicy. Cena takiego przejazdu nie odbiega zwykle od standardowych taryf taxi. Gdzie można znaleźć takie taxi, busa (gdy jest większa grupa osób)? Np. w internecie, można także zapytać na lotnisku lub wysłać e-mail do mnie z prośbą o aktualne informacje (formularz kontaktowy znajduje się z prawej strony bloga, w przypadku problemów z formularzem można pisać na adres e-mail: nawoian@gmail.com),
- wynająć auto na południowej stronie wyspy (należy znaleźć wypożyczalnię wynajmującą auta, którymi możemy poruszać się po obu stronach wyspy). Gdzie można znaleźć takie wypożyczalnie? Np. w internecie lub wysłać e-mail do mnie z prośbą o informacje (formularz kontaktowy znajduje się z prawej strony bloga, w przypadku problemów z formularzem możnać pisać na adres e-mail: nawoian@gmail.com),
- dojechać autobusem z lotniska w Larnace do dworca autobusowego w południowej części Nikozji, przekroczyć granicę (przejście graniczne dla pieszych znajduje się niedaleko przystanków autobusowych po obu stronach granicy, w centrum Nikozji), a następnie skorzystać z busa, który zawiezie nas do wybranego miejsca na północnej części wyspy z dworca autobusowego w północnej części Nikozji. Autobusy, busy po obu stronach granicy kursują zwykle co pół godziny/co 20 minut. Całkowita cena za taki transport wynosi maksymalnie ok. 7 euro/osobę. Rozkłady jazdy autobusów, busów (rozkłady jazdy dla autobusów, busów po obu stronach granicy) znajdują się w moich postach na blogu, dotyczących transportu po obu stronach wyspy.

We have several solutions:
- hire a taxi, which is able to cross the border. The price of such travel does not usually deviate from the standard taxi fares. Where can I find a taxi, bus (if it is a larger group of people)? - rent a car on the southern side of the island (you should find an company renting a car, which we can move on both sides of the island). Where can you find such information? Eg. The web or send an e-mail asking me for information (contact form located on the right side of the blog, in case of problems with the form you can write on e-mail: nawoian@gmail.com)

- by bus from Larnaca airport to the bus station in the southern part of Nicosia, cross the border (border crossing for pedestrians is near bus stops on both sides of the border, in the center of Nicosia), and then use the bus, which will take us to a location on the northern part of the island from the bus station in the northern part of Nicosia. Buses, buses on both sides of the border usually run every half hour/every 20 minutes. The total price for such transport is up to approx. 7 euros / person. Bus schedules, buses (timetables for buses, buses on both sides of the border) are in my blog posts on the transport for both sides of the island.

Południe - płacimy wszędzie w euro, na północy - możemy praktycznie wszędzie płacić w lirach, euro, funtach i w dolarach. Nie ma problemu z płaceniem kartami po obu stronach granicy, chociaż np. w tym roku, w Agia Napa, czy też w Protaras (południowa część wyspy) w wielu miejscach (np. restauracje, puby) można było płacić jedynie gotówką.

South - pay in euro everywhere, in the north - we can almost everywhere pay in lira, euros, pounds and dollars. There is no problem with paying cards on both sides of the border, although eg. this year in Agia Napa or Protaras (southern part of the island) in many places (eg. restaurants, pubs) could be paid only in cash.

Obie strony wyspy warte są odwiedzin, obie strony wyspy są piękne.

Both sides of the island are worth a visit, both sides of the island are beautiful.
